New Moon

This book is the sequil to Twilight which is another book I talked about before.

It continues the story of the Human falling in love with the Vampire. But this time they throw a little Werewolf into the mix. It kinda draged on a bit, and half the book was spent with Bella just thinking about Edward, and missing him.

It starts off sad, leaves you with a sad middle, and then leaves you hanging towards the end. But it made me cry, and left me hoping for a sequil. Which there is going to be. It is called Eclispe, and will be coming out shortly.
Over all Grade: B-

Manga of the Month

Inu Yasha
Okay, okay you caught me I changed it from Manga of the Week to Manga of the Month.
Grade: A

This manga has an excellent story line. It takes place in ancient Japan which a young modern day high school girl(Kagome Higurashi) finds herself wandering into and freeing the half demon Inu Yasha. Long story short these two end up on an adventure to gather the shards of The Jewel of Four Souls. Kagome wants to go on this adventure because she is worried for the innocent people that could be hurt by the demons with a shard of the jewel. And she feels partly responsible because she was the one who scattered the shards across the earth (unintentionally of course).
inu Yasha wants to go on their quest to gather the shards for himself in order to become a full demon.

Oh, and there's one other little twist I forgot to mention. Kagome is the reincarnation of the priestess Kikyo who imprisoned Inu Yasha....And is also the girl Inu Yasha loved.

Lord of the Rings

Okay, I shouldn't even have to explain these books to you. If you've never heard of Lord of the Rings then you must live under a rock.

These books were written by J.R.R. Tolkien as sequels for The Hobbit. Actually it's sequel not sequels, because the Lord of the Rings are actually one book divided into three volumes and then divided again into nine sections.

All in all these books can be dull in some parts. But if you can stick to the story then you'll be satisfied at the end because THESE BOOKS ROCK!!!

Twilight

Grade: A
"About three things I was absolutely positive.
First, Edward was a vampire.
Second, there was a part of him- and I didn't know how dominion that part might be- that thirsted for my blood.

And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably
in love with him." -twilight

This one's about a girl (Bella) who falls in love with a modern Vampire (Edward). Unfortunately their happiness is short lasted...
Even though Edward and his family are "vegetarians" (they only drink animal blood) there are Vampires who drink the blood of humans. In this story there's one evil Vampire in particular, he calls himself the Hunter. He tracks and kills humans for the fun of it...And his sights are set on Bella.
Now I'm normally not one for love stories, but this book also combines adventure and fantisy two of my absolute favorate genres, not to mention some horror and mythology.
The second one in this trilogy (New Moon) is due out October 2006 and the working title for the third is eclipse

Disaster Trip

CEDER POINT!!!!!!!

Actually the trip it's self was great! Ceder Point was awsome I went on allmost every ride, exept for the Mantis, Mileniam Force, and the Magnum. (But I'm going back in two weeks so I'll go on those then.)

I't was the ride back that was horrable! Behind us were the most obnoxious, idiotic, ridiculous, annoying, bastardy, *bleeping* idiots I’ve ever seen. Katie and Diana had fallen asleep so they missed the worst of it. But me, Nay, and Amanda were awake and ferocious.
First of all they were really loud when other people were trying to sleep, and Secondly they were making fun of a poor kid in the bathroom who was throwing up. At first we asked them politly to stop but when they didn't we snaped on them. Then one of them "accidentally" fell on poor Amanda, and man did she look pissed.
I was beyond my snapping point! I wanted to literally kill them! But I didn't, even though I came really close to knocking one girl out. Don't worry dispite my hatred towards them I resisted causing any phyisical harm.
Finnally the delayed trip came to an end. Only it didn't stop there. Oh no. I was talking to another freind who was sitting on another bus, telling them about the current events, when allong passes one of them.
"You shouldn't be talk'n shit about people" were her exact words, not mine hers. And can we say Hippocate? I mean come on! they were the one's who were making fun of a poor sick kid, and they have the gall to tell us not to talk about people. I would have kicked her 'you know what' right then and there If Amanda hadn't stopped me...

My Book of the Week

And the Book of the Week is...
MAXIMUM RIDE!!!!
Grade: A+
Actually Maximum Ride and the Sequel.

Yes, I know the title is Book of the Week not Books of the Week. But you just can't choose between these two.

This story is an awsome mix of X-men and a teen novel. It's about six kids who were geneticly exparimented on. The reasults in these experements left them with wings and other body functions needed to fly.(among other things) Now they've excaped 'The School' (the sic and twisted place they were experiment on) and are on the run from the schools gaurds, Erasers, an evil half human half wolf mix.

There's more to the story but I'm not gonna tell you, it'd run it...and it's just more fun to make you wait.

If you're looking for an adventurous and new book look no further because Maximum Ride 1&2 are the best books I've come acrossed in a long time.

Manga of the Week

The Manga of the Week is... *drum roll* ...

Fruits Basket!

Grade: B+

This is an interesting story about a high school girl (Tohru Honda) who, after her mothers death begins to live with the Sohma family. Only here's the twist, the Sohma family, yeah... they're possesed by the spirits of the Chinese Zodiac and every time they hug a member of the opposite sex they transform into their zodiac animal, how's that for awkward :)

There are currently 13 books in the series with more on the way.
